Arsenal striker Lucas Perez could leave the Emirates Stadium on loan in the January transfer window, according to Italian sports website Calciomercato.
The report claims the Gunners are thinking about sending Perez on loan despite the fact the Spaniard’s only been at the club since last August.
Perez moved to Arsene Wenger’s team from La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna at the start of the season, but has failed to make a significant impact at the Emirates Stadium so far.
Perez hasn’t been a regular starter for Arsenal so far, mainly because Wenger has decided to move Alexis Sanchez into a central striking role.
However, the Spaniard’s efforts of establishing himself at the Emirates Stadium have also been frustrated by the injury he sustained against Reading three weeks ago.
The 28-year-old started the EFL Cup game against the Championship side last month, but had to be substituted in the 72nd minute after being tackled by Reading’sDanzellGravenberch.
Perez is still recovering from his injury and is not expected to return before his team’s Premier League trip to Manchester City on December 18th.
It appears as though Perez could be set for a temporary exit away from Arsenal in order to get regular playing time in the second half of the season, but leaving the Gunners less than 6 months since his arrival would not bode well for his chances of having a successful career at the Emirates Stadium.
