Manchester United are keeping tabs on teenage Charlton Athletic defender Ezri Konsa, according to the Daily Mirror.
The report suggests the United scouts have been following Konsa’s progress since the start of the season, but the Red Devils face competition from Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Scottish champions Celtic.
The 19-year-old centre-back, who can also play at right-back and in midfield, has already made 13 appearances in all competitions for the League One side this season.
It appears as though his impressive performances have drawn the attention of Manchester United, but the Red Devils would have to act quickly if they want to secure his signature.
Manchester United are reportedly eager to reinvigorate their youth academy and even though Konsa wouldn’t play for the club’s Under-18 side, he’d still be part of the revolution at Old Trafford, which revolves around identifying and buying the best youngsters in the world.
The composed, athletic centre-back would surely be tempted by the prospect of playing for Manchester United, but it’s not yet clear whether the Red Devils would follow up their reported interest with a formal offer.
