Manchester United winger Memphis Depay could move to Everton on loan in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The report claims the out-of-favor Dutch winger has accepted the notion that he should leave United in January for the sake of his career, with Everton boss Ronald Koeman keen to take him to Goodison Park on loan.
Koeman is reportedly looking to sign another winger in January and has targeted Depay as he believes he could revitalize the former PSV Eindhoven player’s career.
The 22-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford last year, struggled to establish himself in United’s first team under Louis Van Gaal and things haven’t changed much since Jose Mourinho’s arrival.
Depay is yet to start a Premier League game this season and has only started once since the start of the current campaign – against Northampton in the EFL Cup at the end of September.
He desperately needs regular first-team football and a loan move away from United would be a very smart career decision.
He’d have a chance to show what he’s capable of at a club where the pressure isn’t as intense, and if he performs well, he might receive another opportunity at Old Trafford next season.
