Manchester United winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan is available for selection against Fenerbahce in the Europa League tomorrow evening, according to Jose Mourinho.
Mkhitaryan has been out of action since the middle of September with a thigh injury sustained during United’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, but it looks like he’ll return against the Turkish giants.
“He was injured and he was injured for quite a long time. Now, he’s not injured anymore,” Mourinho told the reporters at his pre-match press conference earlier today.
“He’s training with the team without any limitation. I cannot confirm if he’s [ready] for tomorrow or not, but he’s fit and it’s now time for him to go back to the levels we know that he can achieve.”
The 27-year-old versatile attacker, who moved to United from Borussia Dortmund earlier this year, hasn’t been able to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven so far due to his persistent injury problems.
His return to action would be a major boost for Manchester United as the Armenia international is one of the best attackers in Europe when fit and in form.
The United fans can now look forward to seeing the former Shakhtar Donetsk player in action again, especially if he’s selected against Fenerbahce tomorrow.
It’s a must-win game for United and Mkhitaryan’s presence on the pitch could be significant.
