Barcelona claimed their second 4-0 victory in a week after seeing off Premier League giants Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night and it would be fair to state that the Catalan giants were absolutely stunning during the encounter.
The victory would most certainly have given Barcelona a lot of confidence and Luis Enrique will want his side to translate such form in La Liga as well, where they are currently occupying a lowly 4th place in the standings.
Barcelona now prepare for a clash against Valencia at the Mestalla this weekend and considering their recent revival, claiming a victory will not be easy for the visitors on the night.
Here is the strongest possible Barcelona lineup for the clash against Valencia –
Goalkeeper
While Barcelona may have won by a big margin against Manchester City, it is not to say that they were untested at the back.
In fact, City created a lot of chances throughout the encounter and it was the magnificent Marc-Andre ter Stegen who defiantly denied the Premier League outfit on numerous occasions.
Ter Stegen would most certainly have been very pleased with his display on Wednesday night and he will now be hopeful of putting in another good performance in the clash against the dangerous Valencia on Saturday.
Defence
Barcelona suffered a double injury blow against City after Jordi Alba and Gerard Pique were both forced off in the first half due to injuries.
Due to the blow, Enrique will have to shuffle his pack at the back and it is expected that Lucas Digne and Jeremy Mathieu will be the men replacing the key duo.
Samuel Umtiti will be starting in central defence alongside Javier Mascherano while Digne and Mathieu are expected to fill in at the full back positions.
Midfield
The quality trio of Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets lined up in midfield against City and it has to be said that they were unsurprisingly brilliant once again.
The three stars are expected to start against Valencia as well and they will surely have a key role to play in Barcelona’s hopes of claiming a victory at the Mestalla.
Attack
Lionel Messi is simply magical and he proved this once again by scoring a sensational hattrick against City on Wednesday night.
Even the duo of Luis Suarez and Neymar were in fantastic form on the night and the trio will surely be looking to wreak havoc on the shaky looking Valencia backline this weekend.
