Report: Director of Championship side blocks move for Manchester United midfielder

Old Trafford

There’s a bizarre power struggle at Championship side Fulham and, according to the Daily Telegraph, it happens to involve Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.

Fulham’s manager, Slavisa Jokanovic, has expressed his frustration at the fact he doesn’t have a final say on the club’s transfer business and has also said the doesn’t understand why the club’s data analyst, Craig Kline, can veto his decisions.

“I had an opinion from one of the best managers in the world on one of the players and he believes it is a good signing for us and I believe that too. Craig doesn’t believe it is a good signing for us and this guy is not with us,” Jokanovic said.

“It generally depends on this guy [Kline] who is going to sign for us or not. The last decision is in the hands of this man. It is not my business.”

“I’m a little bit disappointed because no one knows who this guy [Kline] is. Instead he’s sitting in the directors box.

“I want to take responsibility for how I work with my team and how they perform but I am not part of the recruitment business. It is in the hands of people who believe they’re more prepared.”

It seems like Fulham’s data analyst has blocked the move for Pereira and their manager is far from impressed.

Fulham would have been a good move for Pereira as it’s one of the better sides in the Championship and they’ve started the season well.

Jokanovic and Mourinho have a good relationship, so Pereira would have probably got more than enough playing time in London.

However, it appears as though Pereira’s move to Fulham won’t happen, so the 20-year-old Brazilian would have to change his plans.

He needs regular first-team football and given the midfield and attacking options at United, he’s unlikely to get it at Old Trafford this season.

There’s still a little more than a week to go before the transfer window closes, so there’s still some time for Pereira to join another club on loan.
