According to a report from the Mirror (via L’Equipe), the Gunners have increased their bid for Riyad Mahrez to £35 million, as they are still trying to get the Leicester City winger.
The report also claims that Mahrez has declined a contract extension at Leicester that would have kept him at the club for the foreseeable future.
It seems clear that Arsenal are keen on signing Mahrez before the transfer window closes and, if this report is accurate, Mahrez seems to want to be embracing the possibility of a transfer since he refuses to sign an extension with his current club.
Mahrez is a fantastic player, and he would be a huge capture for an Arsenal side that hopes to contend for the English Premier League title this season.
Leicester City does not want to let Mahrez leave, but there still seems to be a chance that this move ends up happening if Mahrez definitively decides that he wants to leave the league champions.
