Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is set to leave the club on a season-long loan this month, according to Press Association journalist Simon Peach.
Peach claims Januzaj will join Schweinsteiger through the Old Trafford exit door before the transfer deadline, but his departure will probably be temporary rather than permanent.
Januzaj has been linked with a move away from United all summer and his omission from the Community Shield squad has only fueled the speculation about his future.
The talented winger has been struggling to recreate his 2013/14 form in the last couple of years and is well down the pecking order at United.
Van Gaal criticized Januzaj’s decision to go to Borussia Dortmund on loan last season as it was clear he wasn’t going to get enough playing time in Tuchel’s team.
Januzaj’s unsuccessful loan was cut short in January and he only made 3 appearances for United between his return to Old Trafford and the end of the season.
It appears as though he’s failed to convince Jose Mourinho this summer and if that’s the case, then he should leave in order to get regular playing time.
A temporary move away from Old Trafford would be best for all parties concerned as it’d allow Mourinho to follow Januzaj’s progress throughout the season and decide whether the winger has a long-term future at the club.
