Although they are sporting a record of 1 win and 1 loss, Manchester United’s pre-season tour has not gone to plan thus far, however, the Red Devils have been given a boost as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been included in the squad that is set to face Galatasaray in Gothenburg, according to the Mirror.
Ibrahimovic was given an extra rest after his Sweden side crashed out of the European Championship, but the report suggests that the striker will make his debut when they battle the Turkish side in the Ullevi Stadium.
Other United stars that are set to make their first appearances of the pre-season include captain Wayne Rooney, Morgan Schneiderlin and Anthony Martial.
David de Gea is set to start in goal while Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are prepared to continue their run in with their new teammates as the the eve of the new Premier League season draws closer.
It will be great to see the likes of Rooney, de Gea, and Martial feature for the first time this pre-season, but the main draw will undoubtedly be Ibrahimovic, who signed a one-year contract at the beginning of the month.
Provided that he does not get injured, Ibrahimovic gives United a quality finisher, which is something they have been missing since the year Robin van Persie powered the club to their 20th league title.
