Report: Manchester United to improve offer to €38m for attacker

Manchester United are ready to outbid Manchester City in the race for Palmeiras attacker Gabriel Jesus, according to Brazilian news outlet GloboEsporte.

The report claims United could make a €38m offer for Jesus next week and are hoping to convince the player to snub Manchester City’s advances.

United’s local rivals are thought to be offering €32m for the 19-year-old.

Gabriel Jesus, whose contract with Palmeiras expires on December 18th, 2019, has been in prolific form so far this season, scoring 14 goals in 18 games for his team.

Cuca’s team sits in first place in the Brazilian SerieA table with 32 points from 15 games. Given Palmeiras’ title ambitions this season, they would probably want to keep the youngster at the club until the end of the domestic season in December.

Gabriel Jesus is one of the most promising Brazilian players right now and his goalscoring form for Palmeiras is a clear indication of his talent.

He’d be a good signing for United as he’s pretty versatile. His primary position is on the left wing, but can also play on the right and up front.

United could do with another creative option on the wing, but it seems like the Red Devils would first have to beat Pep Guardiola’s team to Jesus’ signature.
