Report: Manchester United close to securing another signing

Paul Pogba

Manchester United are close to securing the signature of Paul Pogba, according to the Guardian.

The report claims United have returned with an improved £92m offer for Pogba after their opening bid of £87m plus add-ons was rejected by Juventus earlier this week and are now confident of completing the deal before their friendly game against Galatasaray on July 30th. In fact, the latest Premier League odds show Manchester United with a high probability of landing this important player.

The only thing standing in United’s way is believed to be Juventus’ unwillingness to pay Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, 20% of the transfer fee.

Raiola reportedly inserted the clause in Pogba’s contract when he brought the midfielder to Turin four years ago and now it seems like the transfer won’t be completed before United agree to pay Raiola’s fee, which is thought to be £18.4m.

Juventus are thought to be ready to accept the £92m offer if United agree to pay Raiola’s fee.

Pogba, who’s still on vacation in Miami, is said to have already agreed a deal with United, which would see him earn as much as £290,000 a week.

It looks like United are about to sign one of the best midfielders in the world this summer, which would drastically increase their chances of winning the Premier League title next season.

Pogba would be a fantastic signing for United and if he shows what he’s capable of at Old Trafford, people would stop criticizing his transfer fee just like it happened with Anthony Martial last season.
