Report: Manchester United determined to sign 24-year-old at any cost

Neymar

Manchester United want to sign Barcelona star Neymar at any cost this summer, according to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The report suggests United had failed with a €192million bid for Neymar last summer, but have decided to make another move for him and are hoping to convince him to reject Barcelona’s offer of a new contract.

United are believed to have instructed Pini Zahavi, who’s been involved in some of the most expensive transfers in modern-day football, to work on bringing Neymar to Old Trafford this summer.

The 24-year-old, who will play in this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, scored 27 goals and provided 16 assists in 44 appearances for Barcelona last season.

Neymar would be a sensational signing for Manchester United. He’s one of the best players in the world and would surely transform their attack.

However, the chances of the deal going through are practically zero as this type of speculation is pretty common when a player is in the middle of contract renewal negotiations with his club.

The player’s representatives often leak some exaggerated information to the media in order to put pressure on the player’s club and get their client a new deal with better terms.
