Report: Bundesliga Star Close to completing £31m Manchester United move

Mkhitaryan

After seeing their two bids rejected for the Dortmund midfielder, Manchester United could finally sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan for £31 million as early as next week, reports Daily Star (Via Gianluca Di Marzio).

After losing the likes of Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan to Bayern Munich and Manchester United respectively, Dortmund were initially wary of losing yet another star player in Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

However, Mkhitaryan aggravated rumors of his exit after rejecting a contract extension.

The 27-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his current contract with Dortmund.

As a result, when Manchester United came calling for his signature, it was expected that Dortmund would sell the Armenian midfielder for cheap.

However, after two failed bids from the Red devils, they have finally agreed to match the valuation of Mkhitaryan which is set by Dortmund.

The arrival of Mkhitaryan would surely fortify an otherwise embittered Manchester United midfield.

While they do have the stalwarts like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick, none of them matches the potency of Mkhitaryan in front of goal.

The Armenian scored 16 goals in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund last season. Also, he provided 20 assists to his teammates.

Thus, with the likes of Rashford, Martial and Rooney playing ahead of him, Mkhitaryan could propel Manchester United to a title challenge next season.
