Liverpool in talks with Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi’s agent over a potential transfer, according to reports from L’Equipe
While Liverpool have enjoyed a number of positive changes since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp as manager, it has to be said that their campaign ended on a very sour note.
Liverpool could manage only a lowly 8th placed finish in the Premier League and more disappointingly, the Reds suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final of the Europa League.
Many felt that left back Alberto Moreno was the main culprit behind Liverpool’s loss against Sevilla in the Europa League and Klopp is believed to be lining up a new full-back to replace the young Spaniard this summer.
Amavi wanted by Liverpool
A number of names have been mentioned as potential targets for Liverpool over the past month or so, and now a new candidate in the form of Jordan Amavi has emerged.
According to reports from L’Equipe, Klopp is an admirer of Amavi and has already moved on to establish contact with the defender’s agent over a potential transfer.
Amavi made only 10 Premier League appearances for Aston Villa last season after his campaign was cut short due to a serious knee injury but he managed to impress many with his performances.
Now with Villa suffering relegation, Amavi is expected to leave and a fee of around £10.8 million is reported to be enough for Liverpool to sign the young Frenchman.
