In an interesting development on Thursday night, Mino Raiola has claimed that his client Henrikh Mkhitaryan is eager to join Manchester United from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, as per talksport.
Mkhitaryan enjoyed the best season of his career at the Signal Iduna Park last season.
In addition to scoring 18 goals in all competitions for Dortmund, he provided 20 assists to his teammates.
Thus, if Manchester United could be able to lure him away from the Westfalenstadion, the Red Devils will be getting one of the most in-form players.
The Red Devils have already launched a £19 million bid, which was quickly rebuffed by Borussia Dortmund.
However, according to the comments of his agent, it seems only a matter of time before we could see the Armenian in Manchester United colors.
“He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation,” Raiola said.
“We are still talking to Dortmund. We are trying to be reasonable. They are aware that Micki wants to leave now.”
While these comments by Raiola would definitely make Manchester United fans happy, it could also antagonize the Borussia Dortmund higher ups.
The club has lost two key players – Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan, and will be wary of losing the third one. Of course, it could all be a ploy on the agent’s side to extract a juicy contract from the Bundesliga side.
