Manchester United are keen on Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, but haven’t made an offer yet, according to Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The journalist claims Valencia want to keep the player at Mestalla, but there’s strong interest in the midfielder from 4 clubs.

Chelsea and Juventus are believed to have already made offers for Gomes, whereas Manchester United and Barcelona haven’t followed up their interest with bids yet.

Despite enduring a frustrating season at Valencia, Andre Gomes is still a key player for Portugal. He started the Iberians’ opening Euro 2016 game against Iceland and even made the assist for Luis Nani’s goal.

Gomes seems set to leave Valencia this summer, but any move would have to wait until the end of Euro 2016.

It appears as though Chelsea and Juventus are leading the chase for the energetic midfielder, but there’s still plenty of time for Manchester United to make a firm bid.

Gomes would be a good signing for Manchester United. He’d add energy and attacking purpose to the team’s lethargic midfield.

If Jose Mourinho’s interest in Gomes is genuine, United’s chances of signing the player would be fairly big. The Premier League would suit his style of play and he could be tempted to work under his fellow countryman at Old Trafford.
