This year on August 3rd, Wayne Rooney will play in a testimonial match at Old Trafford dedicated to his 12 years playing for Manchester United. The game will be Everton vs Manchester United, with the kick-off at 8pm.

Tickets went on sale this week, with the added option to simply donate to one of the four charities being supported by the event.

At the behest of Rooney, all funds raised by the end of the testimonial match will be distributed among the charities of his choice.

The Wayne Rooney Foundation, a registered charity itself, will help to divide the funds among the NSPCC, who Rooney is the first Ambassador for Childhood for, the Alder Hey’s Children Hospital, Claire House Hospice, and the Manchester United Foundation as well.

Rooney expressed his excitement for the testimonial match in his honor, and that he is thankful for all those who have helped to make the event happen, including the fans.
