Manchester United have joined Napoli and Barcelona in the race to sign Monaco right-back Fabinho, according to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The report suggests Napoli are deep in negotiations for the Brazilian, but European heavyweights Manchester United and Barcelona are also interested and have already made moves to sign the player.
The 22-year-old right-back, who can also play in midfield, is one of Monaco’s key players and has established himself as one of the best and most reliable players in the French league.
The Brazilian played 47 games in all competitions for Monaco last season, scoring 8 goals and making 5 assists.
He’d be a very good signing for Manchester United, especially considering Matteo Darmian’s unconvincing displays during the course of the 2015/16 season.
His ability to play in more than one position would also come in handy as Jose Mourinho likes having versatile players at his disposal.
It appears as though Fabinho is set for a move away from Monaco this summer and the talented defender could follow in Anthony Martial’s footsteps by leaving the French side for Manchester United.
If United are interested in signing a new right-back to either challenge or replace Darmian this summer, Fabinho would be a realistic target as Monaco seem open to selling him.
