The 20-year-old Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan has emerged as a shock transfer target for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, as per Mirror Football.
According to the report, Brannagan first caught the eye of scouts when he was playing against Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League in 2014.
The La Liga giants are so impressed with his talent that they’re willing to offer £5.5 Million to Liverpool for his services.
In addition to Real Madrid who started tracking the youngster 2 years ago, Barcelona have also been tracking the development of Brannagan. However, when it comes to the transfer funds, the Catalan club believe that they are financially restricted.
With the club paying astronomical wages to Lionel Messi and Neymar, their transfer kitty has emaciated in the last few years.
Manchester United also made attempts to sign Brannagan some time back, but the player waived off interest from the Red Devils to prolong his Liverpool career.
Thus, while Brannagan would be honored to be linked with the Spanish giants, previous history suggests that he might choose to extend his Liverpool career.
