According to This is Anfield, Liverpool has agreed to a £12m fee for Jonas Hector from FC Cologne, and now they are negotiating with the twenty-six-year-old.

Hector is currently on his international duties, but it looks like the Reds are getting very close to finalizing the deal.

Klopp’s side has been struggling with the left-back position during most of the season, with Alberto Moreno being the only real left-back. While it is true that Moreno was pretty good in attack, his defensive capabilities are less than impressive.

However, we could say that Liverpool scouts are doing their best in order to fill the gap in the left-back position, and I’m sure that Hector isn’t the only player they are interested in.

Hector made 13 appearances for his national team, scoring 1 goal along the way, and he had a very good last season in the German Bundesliga. This should be enough for Klopp to sign him, and it’s certain that Moreno is now going to face some bigger competition for the place in first-team squad.
