Match Preview

Costa Rica enters the continental tournament under many doubts and concerns. There is skepticism as to what form the ‘ticos’ reach the competition, and if will they resemble anything shown during their quarterfinal run at the last Brazil 2014 World Cup. Since Brazil, Costa Rica did coaches Jorge Luis Pinto and later Paulo Wanchope left the bench, and now Oscar Ramirez will try to lead the ‘tricolor’ toward success.

Also, the team star and absolute favorite Keylor Navas will miss yet another international competition due to an injury. Therefore, many concerns surrounds Costa Rica, yet they will be a difficult opponent to defeat this Saturday.

The Paraguayan national team, along with Costa Rica, the team least favored to reach the next round out of Group A. The team coached by Ramon Diaz has had a weak FIFA World Cup qualifier, and the team in general has been very weak for the past five years. Regardless, the ‘Guaranies’ understand how to play in Copa Americas as shown in the 2015 and 2011 editions where they finished 4th and 2nd respectively.
