Report: Barcelona line up £14m bid for Manchester United outcast

If reports coming from English media outlet Daily Mail (via Sport) are believed to be true, Daley Blind could leave Manchester United in the coming months for FC Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are reportedly lining up a £14 million bid for the Dutchman, whose career at Manchester United looks set to be over after the departure of Louis Van Gaal.

Blind signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2014 for a fee of around 14 million Pounds. Louis Van Gaal rated the player very highly and thus brought him to Old Trafford at the start of his tenure.

Like the tenure of Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United, the playing career of Daley Blind at Old Trafford hasn’t won over the majority. Thus, it is safe to say that there might not be too many misty eyes should the Dutchman decide to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

After the arrival of Mourinho at Old Trafford, many believe that this could signal the end of the road for Blind. The Portuguese manager favors physical centre-backs and Blind, at 5’11’’, doesn’t seem to fit his bill.

Thus, if Manchester United are able to rack in £14 million for the 26-year-old, it will be viewed as a very shrewd business on their part.
