Manolas

Jose Mourinho is planning to make Roma defender Kostas Manolas his first signing at Manchester United, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio

While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, it is widely expected that Jose Mourinho will be installed as manager of Manchester United and there are already a lot rumors floating about regarding whom the Portuguese tactician will sign once he arrives at Old Trafford.

Names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Nemanja Matic and John Stones have all been mentioned as potential targets for Mourinho and now according to reports emerging out of Italy, it has been claimed that Mourinho is eyeing a swoop for Kostas Manolas.

Manolas is currently plying his trade for Italian giants Roma and is regarded as one of the finest defenders around in Europe following two stellar campaigns at the Stadio Olimpico.

Mourinho is widely believed to be a keen admirer of Manolas since his time as manager of Chelsea and now according to Gianluca Di Marzio, it is being claimed that the 53-year-old wants to bring the Greek international to United.

Roma certainly do not want to lose Manolas and with the defender contracted to the club till 2019, United will in all likelihood have to match the Italian side’s whopping asking price of around £30million to sign the defender this summer.
