According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool is going to chase 21-year old Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule. Sule had a pretty good season at Hoffenheim, and he is a part of the Germany U-21 squad.

Now that Klopp has been appointed as Liverpool’s manager, we can surely expect to hear a lot of transfer rumours connected to the German Bundesliga. This time, the transfer rumour focuses on Niklas Sule.

With Joel Matip already acquired, Klopp expects that Sule is going to boost Liverpool’s defense, which has been very prone to errors for the past two seasons. Although Sule is very young, his athleticism and football intelligence could be very helpful in Liverpool’s next-season Champions League chasing campaign.

The futures of Martin Skrtel, Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho are yet to be decided, so Klopp is going to have big troubles finding the right balance between players in the defensive line. The only defender that is going to stay for sure is Dejan Lovren, and he wasn’t very reliable during last season.

There is going to be a lot of activity for Liverpool this summer, and we’ll just have to wait and see what their defense is going to look like in September.
