For the second-leg Liga MX Clausura 2016 semifinal, Pachuca and Club Leon will face-off this Sunday, May 22, 2016 (6:06 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Hidalgo. This series between siblings has all the ingredients necessary to become an entertaining match as the winner will join Monterrey in the ‘liguilla’ final.
Tuzos of Pachuca performed well last Thursday in their visit to Leon where they scored an important away goal and tied 1-1. With that score, Diego Alonso’s team will reach the final with a win, or tie at 0-0 or 1-1. Pachuca is favored to win the series as they will play in front of their home crowd and because they performed slighty better than their opponents throughout the regular season. If the ‘tuzos’ do win the semifinal, the Liga MX will have a final between the top two ranked teams.
Leon will have a very difficult opponent on Sunday night as they visit a team hungry for a win. The ‘fiera’ must play a perfect game where a win or a tie by two or more goals will earn them a pass into the final next week. The team coached by Luis Fernando Tena will not surprise many if they do defeat Pachuca as they are undefeated in their past eight matches dating back to Week 12 the last time they lost a match.
