The first Liga MX Clausura 2016 finalist will be known when Monterrey host Club America in the second-leg semifinal this Saturday, May 21, 2016 (6:30 PM Pacific) at the Estadio BBVA Bancomer. This match between ‘Rayados’ and ‘aguilas’ offer all the ingredients necessary for an outstanding match which will most likely be filled with drama and exciting moments; a must-watch encounter!
Monterrey will receive America this Saturday in what will their most difficult match thus far into the Clausura 2016 campaign. After losing last Wednesday 0-1 at the Estadio Azteca during the first-leg, the team coached by Antonio Mohamed is now forced to win 1-0, or by two or more goals if they receive a goal. Considering the excellent form by America, the ‘rayados’ will have to play a perfect game and demonstrate why they led the league in points.
Club America enters Saturday’s match as slight favorites, even though they visit a difficult stadium in front of fans who will be supporting Monterrey with outstanding enthusiasm. The team coached by Ignacio Ambriz reached the final with a win, a tie, or a loss by a one goal difference (as long as they score, i.e. 1-2, 2-3, etc.). Considering MOnterrey has the pressure to win and to not concede a goal, the ‘aguilas’ have a slight advantage to win the semifinal series and become the first finalist.
The winner of this semifinal series will face the winner between Leon and Pachuca who face-off on Sunday.
