Three Premier League Clubs Reportedly Interested in Manchester United Midfielder

According to reports coming from British Media outlet Daily Star, three Premier League clubs are coveting the Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.

The veteran English midfielder hasn’t been offered a new contract by the Red Devils and as things stand, he will leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Carrick, 34, has been at the Old Trafford since Sir Alex signed him from Tottenham in the summer of 2006. Manchester United paid Spurs a handsome amount of 14.5 Million Pounds to give away the services of Carrick.

Looking at his decade-long service to the club and Carrick has proved to be a bargain. In addition to winning 5 Premier League and 1 Champions League titles with the club, Carrick has been a leader both on and off the pitch.

However, now that Manchester United are reluctant to offer him a new contract, the likes of Everton, Stoke, and West Ham United are ready to offer the 34-year-old a way out. However, the situation could still change for Carrick, provided Van Gaal decides to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Carrick will be willing to stay if Van Gaal leaves, however, that decision will be dependent on whether the new manager considers him in his plans.

Jose Mourinho is the name being highly linked with the Red Devils and looking at his treatment of players like John Terry, Carrick is confident that the Portuguese Manager would include him in his plans if he takes over the reins at Manchester United in the summer.
