Manchester United has beat Arsenal and Manchester City in signing a Dutch youngster, Tahith Chong, according to reports made by Metro. These Premier League teams have been monitoring this star for a while and had shown interest in signing him.
The 16-year old midfielder, who was expected to remain in his club, Feyenoord, has opted out. He believes he has a better opportunity at Old Trafford. When he talked to Elf Voetbal (via Metro), he said that he had a better feeling at Manchester United. “It was my intention to stay at Feyenoord, but no plan was made for me. When I said I wanted to leave, they made a plan. That was too late. At Manchester United I had a better feeling.”
Tahith Chong is a left-footed left winger who uses his pace to run and then deliver a cross. This talent has made him highly regarded in The Netherlands, regardless of his young age. Ajax was interested in signing this star sometime back, but he preferred to remain in Feyenoord. In his current club he has created a great partnership with Vente, who he has assisted to score most of his goals.
Depending on how he adapts and develops in the club’s academy, Chong has great potential at Manchester United. At Old Trafford, wingers have managed to become legends. We just have to wait and see what comes of this promising talent.
