Ahead of the last league clash against Bournemouth, Van Gaal gave an update on the list of injured players and the possible comebacks. The Dutchman said Adnan Januzaj and Matteo Darmian are set to miss the clash. Bastain Schweinsteiger and Luke Shaw are already out of the equation due to long-term injuries.
Januzaj picked up a knock while training and was added to the injury list. The youngster featured in the last few minutes in the last fixture against West Ham United.
Matteo Darmian was injured in the clash against Norwich City. He encountered an ankle problem and went off the pitch, ruling him out for the clash against Bournemouth.
Both Bastain Schweinsteiger and Luke Shaw haven’t recovered from their injuries. Luke Shaw was deemed to return ahead of the FA Cup final but Van Gaal, in his interview to MUTV made it clear that his return for the season is impossible to happen.
Ashley Young will train with the squad on Saturday, said Van Gaal. But he also mentioned that his return is not yet decided as it will depend on how he performs in the training session.
When asked if any of the injured players will be available for the FA Cup clash against Crystal Palace, Van Gaal revealed there is a possibility of Januzaj and Darmian making a return but completely ruling out Luke Shaw’s comeback.
