According to reports coming from Sport via Bleacher Report, Barcelona are set to sign Spanish midfielder Denis Suarez from fellow Spanish Club Villarreal in the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is also reported that the 22-year-old will travel to Barcelona after the Copa Del Rey Final that will take play at the end of this month.

While Villarreal originally thought that the lure of playing Champions League football will keep the Spaniard at the El Madrigal next season, the sensational form of Suarez has prompted a strong interest from his former club.

Suarez played for the Barcelona B side from 2013-15 during which he made 36 appearances for the junior side.

However, while he was expecting a role in the first team of Barcelona, lack of playing time forced Suarez to join Villarreal at the start of this season.

While his form hasn’t been that great – when you compare it with the Barcelona midfielders, but for a player who is just 22, Suarez has ticked all the right boxes to be a great player in the coming years.

In addition to feeling happy over securing his services, Barcelona have been pretty shrewd when it comes to the financial aspects of this deal.

Thanks to a buy-back clause which they had inserted in his contract when Suarez departed for Villarreal, the Catalan Giants would only have to pay a meager sum of 3.25 Million Euros to secure his services.

Looking at the playing position of Suarez and it is usually the left side of midfield where he causes havoc.

As epitomized by his game against Liverpool last month, the pace and trickery of Suarez make him a constant nuisance for the opposition defenders.

Thus, while he might not get an immediate entry into the Barcelona Starting XI, Suarez would be hoping that his performances with Villarreal would convince Luis Enrique to give him more playing time.
