Olivier Giroud was hailed by his manager for the man-of-the-match performance against Manchester City. “He was fighting, he had control of the ball, he was finishing, he gave an assist,” said Wenger after a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Wenger was delighted with Giroud’s performance, as the French striker repaid for the trust shown in him by Arsene Wenger. “Olivier Giroud was questioned recently and I am happy I kept confidence in him, because I thought he had a top-level performance,” revealed Arsene.
Giroud was involved in both the goals as Arsenal came from behind twice to salvage a point. In the first half Giroud scored a header past Hart and then in second half he provided a brilliant assist to Alexis Sanchez from a move created by both of them.
Olivier Giroud has scored a goal and assisted twice in his last two appearances after a poor run of form for 4 months. Giroud stepped up to the moment and helped Arsenal to stay in the race for top four finish.
