In a match that was designated as dead rubber by many Liverpool fans, the Liverpool players seemed to have taken their advice, as evident by their performance on the ground. Right from the offset, Liverpool looked like a team that has more important priorities.
As defending set-pieces has been an Achilles heel for the Reds this season, this factor was again epitomized today by the opening goal of the Welsh side.
Andre Ayew wasn’t the tallest man on the pitch, however, that factor didn’t stop him from rising above the likes of Lovren and Allen to nod the ball home. After that, Liverpool were at sea and Swansea capitalized fully with their indefatigable pressing of the ball.
Thus, while the Liverpool faithful might not take this hammering in a bad way, they would be hoping that Liverpool compensates for this performance with a much better one against Villarreal in the upcoming week.

It's amazing the power I still have over Liverpool.
I left the club 6 months ago and yet today's loss is still my fault.

Full-time: Swansea 3-1 Liverpool. Lacklustre performance all round as we stay 7th in the table.
