Manchester United Reportedly Interested in £22m Ligue 1 Striker [Transfer Report]

Manchester United are reportedly interested in bringing Alexandre Lacazette to the Premier League, according to L’Equipe and Mirror UK.

Even with the emergence of Marcus Rashford, there have been talks that Lacazette is one of the top targets for Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Lacazette has scored 19 goals for Olympique Lyon this season and has been one of the best players in Ligue 1 for many seasons. In January, Lyon reportedly accepted a £22 million fee from Newcastle United, but the deal fell through.

Lacazette has expressed his interest in playing in the Premier League when he spoke to the French publication Le10 Sport in March. “A departure? Yes, I think about [it and] the Premier League is very attractive for a player.”

Lacazette would add another attacking dimension to Manchester United, but he would not be guaranteed a starting position as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Wayne Rooney have had successful seasons so far.

However, this deal seems unlikely as Tottenham seem to be the leading candidate to sign Lacazette. Tottenham have been wanting to sign another srtiker to play with Harry Kane for a while now, so this move would not be
