The Dorados Sinaloa vs Cruz Azul Liga MX match will be held this Saturday, April 9, 2016 (7:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Banorte. This is one of the most noteworthy games in Week 13 of the Clausura 2016 as it could be the last match for Dorados as a first division team.
The team coached by Jose Guadalupe Cruz has experienced a negative trend of results ever since their promotion into the Liga MX almost a year ago. In the relegation battle they are in last place, and with their direct demotion rivals like Chivas and Morelia playing well, Dorados has been the chosen one to demote into the Ascenso MX. This Saturday, they host one of the strongest teams in the competition, and in order remain in the relegation battle they will have to win all of their remaining games. Unfortunately for the team from Sinaloa, that does not seem that it will occur as they sit in last place with only 8 points after 2 wins, 2 ties, and 8 losses.
Cruz Azul suffered a hard blow during the mid-week after losing to Necaxa in the semifinals of the Copa MX. That elimination may have hurt their morale for Saturday’s game, but nonetheless they will attempt to earn a win to remain as one of the top 4 teams in the competition. After 12 games, the team coached by Tomas Boy sits in 4th place with 19 points.
