Mexico national team legends will host F.C. Barcelona legends at the Estadio Corregidora in Queretaro on Friday, April 1, 2016 (6:25 PM Pacific). This friendly match will serve to commemorate great stars in Barcelona’s past, as well as historic former Mexican national team players. It will be played in a family oriented atmosphere as the sole reason for this game will be to allow the fans to watch their past idols play one more time, where the winner will only gain bragging points.
The game will have the normal 11v11, with two 45 minute halfs, and regardless of the score, there will be penalty kicks to end the contest. A serious aspect of this friendly is that when the clock hits the 14 minute mark, there will be a homenage for the historic Barcelona player Johan Cruyff, who recently passed away.
Some noteworthy players who will represent Barcelona are Hristo Stoichov, Eric Abidal, Ronald De Boer, Gaizka Mendieta, and Vitor Baia. Mexico will be represented in part by Ramon Ramirez, Jorge Campos, Francisco Fonseca, Jared Borgetti, and Braulio Luna.
