Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal will return to his home country for a post with the Dutch national squad, according to a recent report from The Independent.
The 64 year-old coach, who left the national side after taking them to the semi-finals of World Cup 2014 is expected to be appointed as the technical director of the soon-to-be-completed Dutch national football centre of excellence.
If the Dutch manager does return home, it would be his third stint with the football federation, and an opportunity for him to finish his career on a more positive note. The Red Devils finished fourth in the premier league table last season, and right now it doesn’t look like they will be able to match that, currently sitting 6th, four points off rivals City, a point behind West Ham and three above Southampton.
