Manchester United are considering a summer mover for Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.
Despite manager Louis Van Gaal’s future at Old Trafford being up in the air it has been reported the Dutch manager has already been making transfer plans for the summer. Murillo is one of the names on his wish list.
The 23-year-old Colombian has caught the eyes of the manager at Old Trafford. However, according to Italian reports, Inter Milan want as huge sum of around £30 million for the defender. That could send Manchester United looking elsewhere for a centre back. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are reportedly also interested in the Colombian.
Murillo has made 23 appearances for Inter Milan this season, scoring two goals. He’s also has 16 caps for Colombia under his belt and was named the best young player in Copa America in 2015.
The Red Devils are in search for another centre defenceman to possible pair with Chris Smalling. Dutch player Daley Blind is not seen as a long term solution and Phil Jones’ status is always up in question due to his constant injuries. Murillo could be the solution to Manchester United’s defensive woe’s. However with Van Gaal most likely gone this summer, whomever steps in will probably have a completely different wish list filled with different players.
Should Manchester United go after Murillo this summer?
