A new report from Sport Bild indicates Real Madrid have begun to express interest in Vfl Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez.
While the Madrid club is still under a transfer ban, they continue to be linked to numerous players they feel would be great additions come summer 2017, the time in which players Real have signed under the ban can join team activities.
Manchester United have also ramped up interest in the player feeling they could be left out of negotiations if Real Madrid force the issue with Wolfsburg. United defender Luke Shaw has been out of action since mid-September after a horror challenge by Hector Moreno during a UEFA Champions League match against PSV.Shaw could potentially make a comeback by seasons end which could complicate the depth chart for United heading into next season.
Shaw could potentially make a comeback by seasons end which could complicate the depth chart for United heading into the 2016-2017 Premier League season.
Rodriguez is one of the highest rated young left backs in world football and would be a massive addition for either Real Madrid or Manchester United. Madrid could slot the player into the side when first team backs need rest before eventually transitioning him into the first team full time. United could place him directly into the first team squad next season regardless of Shaw’s status.
The Red Devils have struggled mightily at times this Premier League season and could use the spark provided by an attacking left back that can also recover when needed.
