Premier League’s fallen giants Liverpool are reported to be lining up a massive swoop for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, a report by Gazzetta dello Sport has hinted. The 23-year-old frontman is currently on the books of Juventus and speculation about the former Real Madrid man leaving Italy is rife.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has favoured the strike partnership of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic this season, which meant that there was no place for Alvaro Morata to fit in. The former Real Madrid man has made 18 league appearances this season, but most of these games have seen him come off the bench with not much time left on the clock.
Morata is believed to have grown frustrated with a lack of action and he could well be looking to leave the club. Italian sports news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that Liverpool could be looking to provide the player with an escape route as they are willing to offer almost £45m for the player.
At 23 years of age, Morata would not only be a player who can contribute right now, but could also be a talent for the future. Jurgen Klopp would do well to have a player of his calibre in the Liverpool team especially since Christian Benteke is the only fit striker that they have at the moment.
