Deal Agreed: Arsenal set to complete the transfer of international

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Aston Villa to loan out Mathieu Debuchy till the end of the season, according to reports from the Football Insider

After struggling for regular minutes on the pitch, Mathieu Debuchy had been widely tipped to leave Arsenal during the January transfer window and a host of clubs such as Roma, Lyon and West Bromwich Albion had been mentioned as interested parties to sign the 30-year old.

Recently, even Aston Villa had joined in the race to sign Debuchy and manager Remi Garde had admitted last week that he held discussions with Arsene Wenger over the signing of the French international.

Garde had said, “I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was among these players. It’s too early and it won’t help me or anyone to go forward in this style to make too many more comments.”

Now in a further development to the story, it can be revealed that Aston Villa have finally managed to agree a deal with Arsenal to sign Debuchy on a loan deal till the end of the season.

According to exclusive reports from Football Insider, it has been claimed that Aston Villa will be paying a fee of around £1.2million to Arsenal for the duration of the six month loan and the transfer is now expected to be completed within the next few days.
