Arsenal ready to spend over £50million to sign young duo

Xhaka

A new report from BBC SPORT suggests Arsenal, the current Premier League leaders, will look to strengthen their squad for a championships push with Borrusia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Xhaka, 23, has been a rising star in Germany this season and has long held the interest of many teams in the Premier League. He could fit in nicely with Arsenal, a team known for getting the most out of young talents brought in from other teams.

Monchengladbach are looking to get near £40 million for the young Swiss international but may need to lower their expectations if they want a deal with Arsenal.

Rabiot, a French youth international, has been on manager Arsene Wenger’s radar for the past few transfer windows and may finally be on his way to Emirates Stadium.

Rabiot’s agent was reportedly in London within the last few days to hold talks with Arsenal about the player finally joining the Gunners. PSG, who previously were not willing to listen to offers for one fo their best young players, are now reportedly keen to unload the player and would accept an offer in the range of £15 million from the London club.

Rabiot has struggled to find first team football with manager Laurent Blanc favoring in form Marco Verratti in midfield.

With both Xhaka and Rabiot seemingly on the brink of becoming the newest members of Arsenal, it will be interesting to follow this saga in the coming days.
