Arsenal plan to bring international star back to the Emirates

The Telegraph is reporting the Arsenal are contemplating bringing back former academy product and current Turkey International Oguzhan Ozyakup.

With both Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere currently out with a long-term injury, the Gunners boss is looking to shore up his injured midfield by bringing back Ozyakup. The player did not impress in his first stint with the club but has since transformed into one of the best young midfielders in Turkey.

Ozyakup, 23, spent four years in London at the Arsenal youth academy but never caught on with the first team and returned to Turkey to join Besiktas in 2012.

Since then, he has appeared in 121 games for the Istanbul side and has been a linchpin in midfield. He has also begun to show a scoring touch having scored five goals in the first 15 games of the Super Lig season. He also has five assists.

The player is looking to find his way back to the Premier League to continue growing against better competition and a return to his former club may be the best option, even though it is thought that Besiktas may not allow the player to leave until the summer.

It is not yet known what price Besiktas has placed on Ozyakup, but it will be considerably higher than the £500,000 Arsenal sold him for just four seasons ago.
