Reports from England have suggested that Manchester United are favourites to bag Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, after beating off competition from a host of other clubs that are chasing after him as well.
Louis van Gaal has been on the lookout for a quality centre-forward as the Red Devils are in desperate need of one. United ‘s need for a striker has become evident especially after their chastening defeat at the hands of Wolfsburg just last night managed to knock them out of the Champions League. Anthony Martial did get on the scoresheet in that game but the Reds desperately need another striker to support him as there was no one else available to turn the ball home.
United have sounded out Harry Kane as the answer to their problems. Quite a few clubs including Chelsea and Real Madrid are linked to the England man but according to Squawka News, United are in pole position to grab him. Squawka have also stated that it will be difficult for Tottenham Hotspur to turn down a huge bid for him, thus giving United free passage to do their business this coming January. It is thought that Kane would cost United a whopping £50m but they seem to be willing to pay that much for one of the Premiere League’s standout players of this season and the last.
While Kane has not hit the back of the net as frequently as the last season, he has still scored eight goals in fifteen matches all from a total of 58 shots.
