With his goal against Manchester United, Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy scored in his 11th consecutive Premier League match and now stands alone as he surpasses Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of most consecutive goals scored in the Premier League.
In the 24th minute Foxes defender Christian Fuchs played a superb ball into the box to an onrushing Vardy who beat Man United’s offsides trap and fired past David De Gea. Leicester City would go on to draw Man United 1-1 as their fine form continues.
No one could of guessed that while Vardy was playing non-league football for Fleetwood Towns over three years ago that one day he would break a record that was set by on the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen. He had been playing in the seventh tier of English football as recently as 2010.
Since then the striker has been linked to prestigious clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Man United. He is the main reason the Foxes are off to a fantastic start under manager Claudio Ranieri as they sit in second in the Barclays Premier League.
After Vardy broke Van Nistelrooy’s record, the Ducthman had this to say.

Van Nistelrooy scored 95 Premier League goals for United.He set the record in 2003 with them. He won league titles in England, Spain, and the Netherlands. Vardy’s biggest accomplishment, prior to this, was helping Leicester City get promoted in 2014.
It was announced earlier this week that Vardy will be opening up an academy to find the next star from non-league football.
Whether or not Leicester City and Vardy will be sitting in the top four of the standings come May has yet to be determined. However the Englishman has given Leicester City fans a season that will go down in history, and one that is definitely unforgettable.
