Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in their hunt for Ukrainian forward Andriy Yarmolenko, reports the Metro. The 26-year-old forward is still at Dynamo Kyiv after being constantly linked with a move to England for the last three seasons at least.
This time however, he could end up making the transfer to an English club after his manager, Sergei Rebrov, admitted that he would be powerless to prevent him from moving.
When asked about the player’s qualities, Rebrov said, “He’s a very high-level footballer but we do not build our game around him. I can see his progress and that other teams are interested in him but it all depends on his relationship with the president.”
The manager also added, “If you are asking me then I don’t want to sell the player, I want to keep him in the team. But, at the end of the day, it’s all about the relationship with the president.”
Premier League giants Arsenal are known to be long-term admirers of the player and this admission from the Dynamo Kyiv manager may very well incite them into making a move for the attacker in the coming transfer window.
Any football club would be happy to have a star the likes of him amongst their ranks and if the Gunners were to be able to add him to a frontline that already boasts the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott, they would end up being spoilt for choice.
