Manchester United are interested in making a move for Leicester City hotshot Riyad Mahrez, claims the Daily Mail. 20-time English champions, United are in desperate need of some attacking talent after finding it extremely hard to find the back of the net this season.
Despite boasting world class attacking players such as Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay, United have scored just 15 times in the Premier League. To put that into contrast, leaders Manchester City have scored 26 times while West Ham and Arsenal have scored 21 and 22 times respectively.
Leicester City themselves are the second highest goal scoring team in the League after having found the back of the net 23 times. This is largely thanks to the exploits of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez who have scored 19 goals between them.
Mahrez’s goal scoring exploits have not gone unnoticed as Premier League big boys Manchester United are rumoured to be following the player very closely. The Daily Mail have reported that United had representatives in attendance during Leicester City’s game against West Bromwich Albion and a January move for the player seems like a real possibility.
