Tottenham keen on Barcelona forward

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are reportedly looking to sign Barcelona forward Sandro Ramirez for £10 million on the January transfer window.

Tottenham are looking for a player to partner Harry Kane in the offense, since talks with Saido Berahino came to nothing last summer.

Sandro was previously linked with Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, but the Catalan club wasn’t willing to sell the player because they are still operating under a FIFA transfer ban.

Barcelona consider Sandro one of the most promising youngsters to have recently emerged from La Masia, thus would require the £10 million to let him go, similar to what Aston Villa payed last summer for Adama Traore. Barcelona would also include a buy-back clause in the deal, allowing them to bring him back to the Camp Nou in the future.

The 20-year-old was expected to play an important backup role to either Lionel Messi, Neymar or Luis Suarez, but has only started one La Liga game and may be open to a move to the Premier League to secure playing time.

Tottenham are also monitoring Gent’s Laurent Depoitre and Moses Simon to boost their attacking ranks. Having sold Roberto Soldado and released Emmanuel Adebayor, Spurs started the season with only one recognized striker in Harry Kane.
