Manchester United’s Possible January Transfer for Shaw Replacement facing huge roadblock

Despite reports in the media suggesting Manchester United could be in the process of selling Marcos Rojo in the January window and look to replace him with Bruno Martins Indi, the fact that the Porto defender has already featured in this season’s Champions League campaign would make that move highly unlikely.

Rojo has made one start this campaign in the victory away from home at Southampton. He did, however, stay behind in Manchester instead of joining up with the Argentina squad, in order to work on his fitness and hopefully find a way back into Van Gaal’s plans. Rojo was one of the more impressive signings made by Van Gaal and his passionate displays last season did impress the United faithful.

However, since then there have been reports of a fall-out with the Dutch manager and major disagreements have followed. The latest of which was his failure to inform Uniteds’ medical team of his hamstring injury that was picked up in the victory against Southampton.

With Luke Shaw unlikely to feature again this season, United need as much cover in the left back position as possible, and with the likes of Darmian showing signs of struggle after a blistering start to his United career, the club can ill afford to lose experienced players when they want to be challenging on all fronts.
