Manchester United have been linked with 15 year old Dutch striker Thomas Buitink. It has been reported in the Dutch media, United have sent scouts to monitor the young striker’s progress.
Buitink has already represented his country at under 15 level, having scored 3 goals in 7 appearances. He is currently learning his trade at Vitesse’s academy, and his talents have alerted several other premiership clubs in addition to United, with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea also being linked with the highly rated youngster.
United will undoubtedly try to leverage the Dutch connection they already have at the club in manager Louis Van Gaal, in addition to players such as Blind and Depay. Buitink does not have to look too far down United history to see the impact another great Dutch striker made at Old Trafford. Ruud van Nistelrooy, the current Dutch assistant manager, was a huge hit at Old Trafford and United will be hoping Buitink follows in those esteemed footsteps.
Vitesse are unable to tie down the young boy to a contract at present as he is only 15, this will certainly put United on high alert as they will hope to persuade him United is the place for him to nurture his talents.
