Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has given fans a major boost by sharing an image of himself standing on his own two feet, albeit with the help of crutches, for the first time since that fateful day in Eindhoven. The 20-year-old defender who is currently sidelined after a horror injury that left him with his shin bone poking out of his skin, shared the photograph of himself on his Instagram account.
Shaw still has a long way to go yet and he acknowledged this fact as he said, “Long road ahead but so happy to be able to put weight on my leg again!”
A return to football is still a very long way away for Shaw but the fact that he is making steady progress already is surely something from which we all can take heart. Manchester United have been coping with the left back’s absence pretty well as they grabbed yet another impressive victory in the Premier League.
The 3-0 win over Sunderland coupled with a loss for Manchester City has left United on top of the Premier League for the first time since 770 days and by the time Luke Shaw returns to fitness, United could already be celebrating yet another League title.
